GunZ: The Duel – Anti-Lead System Goes to Community Vote

Anti-Lead and the Future of GunZ Combat

PD Max has returned with another developer note—this time to address one of the most hotly debated topics in the community: the anti-lead system.

“I believe many of you are keenly interested in hearing about the ‘anti-lead’ issue at this time.”

GunZ’s fast-paced gameplay and stylish mechanics make it stand out from other titles, but that same speed introduces challenges—particularly with hit registration and desync across different internet connections.

“That means you are gonna be a whole lot more sensitive to those desync issues with hit registration compared to your FPS/TPS experiences.”

What Is Anti-Lead?

The “anti-lead” system helps ensure that attackers see their shots register accurately on their own screen, improving responsiveness in direct combat. However, it comes with trade-offs:

“Implementing the ‘anti-lead’ system would ensure that attackers see their shots register accurately on their screens.
But, it may also lead to instances where players feel they are hit even when they have successfully taken cover.”

This system can create frustrating moments for defenders, who may appear to take damage after breaking line of sight—something GunZ veterans are already familiar with.

Fairness for All Connection Types

One of the biggest concerns is how this system will affect players worldwide, especially those with varied connection quality.

“With players all over the world jumping into GunZ, I need to consider how different internet connections could be affected by ‘anti-lead’.
I want to make sure everyone has a fair fight, no matter where you’re playing from.”

Max stresses that the team is carefully evaluating the technical and gameplay implications before moving forward.

“Our priority is to maintain the unique gameplay experience of GunZ: The Duel and ensure that your gaming experience remains optimal.”

Cast Your Vote

Rather than make the decision behind closed doors, Max has opened it up to the community:

“So, I’m putting it to a vote!
Head over to the poll and let your voice be heard.
The poll will be open for two weeks, and we will discuss the development direction based on the results.”

You can join the official GunZ Discord and cast your vote here:

This move aligns with the developer’s ongoing effort to co-build the remaster with its community, keeping players informed and involved every step of the way.

What’s Next?

Max ends the update by reaffirming his commitment to transparency:

“I appreciate your participation and I will be back with more news.”

As the vote unfolds over the next two weeks, this could become a turning point in how GunZ: The Duel handles combat integrity across diverse player bases.
